THE GREAT PACIFIC RACE

Team Moanlaui

From Monterey to Honolulu

The World’s ultimate endurance challenge. This epic journey is expected to take those racing between 30 and 80 days depending on the number of people in the crew, the quality of their preparation and the weather conditions they encounter on route.  Each boat is only moved by the muscle of the crew pulling on the oars and carries no sails or engines.

When we were tasked with highlighting the Arden Hills Club member Gregory Vlasek training for the race we were thrilled. Greg and three teammates will be muscling their way across the Pacific Ocean – never leaving the little row boat except to jump in the water – without the help of a sail or engine of any sort. Their collective hope and expectation is to finish what is known as the “world’s leading human endurance challenge”.
